I hate talking about myself. Luckily, I have some kind words from a good friend.
Matthew Scarfo loves to engage his imagination with clients to further their brand. He knows and believes a brand is a vision – it is more than just a logo, a color, or a phrase. He prides himself on the many satisfied customers he’s worked with over the years. Backed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts / Graphic Design from West Virginia University, Matthew’s experiences speak for themselves, illustrating an already successful tenure in the field.
As the former Creative Director at Geneva Marketing Group, he led their design team to assist many local businesses bring their brands to life. Matthew had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of for and non- profits such as white water rafting companies, lawyers, bakeries, investment firms, and universities. He was even nationally recognized for his logo and brand creation in the LogoLounge Master Library book series. At the time, he was one of the youngest designers to be awarded this recognition. He holds this close to his heart as well-known graphic designers that inspire him have been acknowledged in this publication such as Malcolm Gear, Bill Gardner, and Paul Rand.
For Matthew’s next adventure he seized an opportunity to become the first ever full-time graphic designer for the discount fashion chain Gabriel Brothers, a.k.a. Gabe’s. He worked his magic with the retailer for several years to assist in the development and expansion of its in-store designs, website, rewards program, and out of home strategies.
Matthew’s current position is held with his alma mater, WVU, as their senior multimedia specialist. His current role of supervising the web and graphic design team at WVU’s Extension Service keeps him current to the fast-paced environment while solidifying discipline in time and project management.
Matthew hasn’t met a challenge he couldn’t conquer and looks forward to working with you.
